Position Overview:
Being the point-of-contact for our customers, you help supply the needs of our HVAC contractors over the phone and in-person to help meet their business needs. You receive orders, enter them into our POS, and provide all star customer service.
In this role, you see every opportunity to learn and grow in your knowledge of the HVAC industry. You know that your competent understanding ultimately helps us meet our customers' needs by pairing them with the parts and supplies they need for their businesses. Each day is different, and you enjoy meeting new people! Were looking for a high-energy, knowledgeable Counter Sales Associate to grow sales with existing customers in a competitive HVAC-R market. The Counter Sales Associate will need to have attention to detail, a high level of problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Essential Job Functions:
Answer incoming telephone calls and greet customers coming into the store
Develop great working relationships and rapport with customers
Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
Determine customer requirements and expectations to be able to recommend specific products and solutions
Learn and use cross-reference materials to recommend alternate products based on cost and availability
Create solutions with Johnstone products and services
Accurately process customer transactions such as sales orders, quotes or returns
Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
Clean, organize and stock showroom floor and counter areas when necessary
Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
Works well as a team player and follows Company Policies/Store Standards
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of experience in customer service or sales.
Knowledge of HVAC and/or building supplies preferred.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Proficiency with computers and different software required as well as knowledge on how to navigate the internet to find products for customers.
