JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of direct to customer and drop shipments including sourcing carriers, tracking shipments from origin to final delivery, auditing invoices and providing general customer service as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Source, arrange, execute and track demand Truck load (TL) drop shipments and DC Direct to Customer Deliveries by providing the most cost effective and service-oriented freight quotes.
Communicate with and monitor service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, or trucking companies including completing and providing all Export documentation for shipments; auditing of all international freight Invoices for drayage, CBP Duties, freight forwarding and Ocean Transport; resolving invoice disputes and carrier payment reconciliations.
Develop an understanding of customers' needs and take actions to ensure such needs are met. Maintain and develop positive business relationships with customers' and service providers' key personnel involved in transportation.
Interpret data on transportation elements such as service provider performance against targets, benchmarks and service agreements. Coordinate Alternate DC to HI/AK/PR shipments through carrier sourcing and providing all required documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma
Bachelor's degree preferably in purchasing, supply chain, or business
Experience
One year related experience required
Skills
Ability to communicate clearly, primarily by telephone, with employees and outside business contacts
Mastery level of skill with Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Office Suite, A/S 400
Physical Demands
Work is sedentary in nature
A substantial part of the day is spent on key entry
Mental/Visual Demands
Must be able to read at distances close to the eyes, with or without correction
Working Conditions
Office environment
