POSITION:
The Continuous Improvement Managers function is to work with Plant Production, Material Services, Shipping and Engineering to determine and develop the most appropriate production processes, layouts, and work centers to carry out the manufacturing and shipping of products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must determine how to measure the critical factors of each process and outputs and develop systems.
Gather information and analyze workforce utilization and space requirements to determine ideal flow of work and define the factors that impact a process, as well as define the true requirements for the inputs and outputs of a process.
Develop new approaches to solve problems found during process engineering activities and instructs others in continuous process improvements, including using various problem-solving methods and efficiency techniques such as process mapping and statistical problem solving. Ultimately determines the appropriate production disciplines and methods to apply toward the problem.
Develop/Utilize digital manufacturing platforms/apps to provide data that would be used to evaluate current process factors and factor performance.
Must analyze data to determine the controlling process factors and their interactions and make conclusions based on findings.
Use CI and structured problem solving (SPS) skills to develop strategies and programs that improve the quality and efficiencies of processes within the company.
Facilitate CI events, such as Lean Line design events, to establish the most efficient method of production prior to launch and oversee the build.
Plan the manufacturing process needed to create, modify, assemble, test, or inspect components in a safe, efficient, and ergonomically sound way.
Application and understanding of PDCA or DMAIC problem solving methodology and Company procedures and policies.


QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in a technical discipline is preferred (i.e., Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Industrial Engineering). In addition, this position typically requires a candidate possessing a minimum of 5+ years experience as an engineer in manufacturing that has demonstrated they can manage process development to launch a project successfully. Through experience, the candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in these areas.
Experience with/working knowledge of Digital Manufacturing Platforms/Apps, or IOT (Internet of Things). AutoCAD experience a plus.
Must have working knowledge regarding CI methodologies and have demonstrated problem solving, planning, and project management skills from previous work experience.
Must possess good interpersonal skills to be able to effectively communicate with and build strong working relationships with individuals and within teams at all levels of the organization.
Must be skilled at facilitating and leading cross-functional teams through structured problem solving such as Kaizen/KATA events.
Should be able to think and act independently with little direct guidance.
Must demonstrate a strong analytical problem-solving approach to work
Communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
