The Sr. Manager Procurement NA Air & Ocean resides within the Global Transportation and Logistics Procurement (GLP) group. The role will have a scope of global responsibilities and the main point of contact for Air and Ocean procurement tasks and processes within the North America region. The scope of business includes freight in the MedTech and Pharmaceutical sectors. This individual will identify, develop and implement the Procurement goals and strategies and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, service, and compliance.
This role will be highly visible both regionally and globally and an excellent opportunity to shape, connect, and lead.
Key Responsibilities:

Implement joint collaborative initiatives with a focus on innovation, diversity, and sustainability.
Identify areas to initiate cost improvement projects. Lead and coordinate improvement/cost saving programs with strategic providers/suppliers.
Collaborate with the J&J Deliver organization (GDEx, Operations, Quality and Finance) and Transportation Procurement in establishing high quality, setting common standards and using J&Js Transportation and Logistics buying power globally.
High level performance of sourcing principles: negotiation, contracting, influencing, cost efficiency.
Analyze, monitor and review market trends and advise internal customers on mitigation actions to overcome potential problems or risks.
Lead and complete bids when vital (regionally and globally) enabling a fair decision making process and proven bidding tools used by J&J.
Conducting research on transportation methods, rates, and routes.
Develop and direct the implementation of programs to support the company Transportation and Logistics initiatives for worldwide, and demonstrating and contracting opportunities through collaboration with carriers.

Qualifications
Education:

Minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required. A degree focused in Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations or Procurement/Sourcing is preferred.
An MBA or Masters Degree is preferred.

Experience and Skills:
Required:

Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, with strong expertise across Deliver function (e.g. Distribution and Transportation, Customer Service, Operations / knowledge of Transportation and Logistics and 3PL industry)
Experience in developing and deploying strategies to drive E2E value
Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority
Build consensus and collaborate with people from different functions
Strong project management experience and process excellence approach
Numerate with strong analytical and data analysis skills, with excellent attention to detail
Customer oriented with a pro-active attitude
The highest degree of ethical standards
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred:

Proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
High level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
Multi-county and Multi sector experience with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses
Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, procurement LT, marketing, R&D, supply chain)
Strategic sourcing and negotiation experience (including contract management)
Hands-on mentality, demonstrating autonomy and showing the ability to manage expectations and requirements of different stakeholders
Strong prioritization skills in order to meet deadlines

Other:

This position may require up to 10% domestic & international travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500
