The Category Management Manager is the subject matter expert surrounding category assortment, shelf management, assortment analyses, opportunity gaps, SWOT Analysis, Industry/Macro Trends and much more that create value to both BBU and the customer. Effective performance requires thorough understanding and consistent use of syndicated data sources such as IRI/Nielsen, Spectra, and planogram software (JDA/Apollo).

Key Job Responsibilities:

Category management expert and advisor for leadership functions. Influences decisions makers by reviewing and analyzing shelf space opportunities, current business trends and category performance within the market and industry.
Responsible for leading implementation of Space Management Projects for all assigned categories at assigned retailers.
Achieve Distribution goals within assigned retailers.
Leverage JDA to deliver new item placement and display recommendations.
Build planograms in JDA to demonstrate category objectives to retailers.
Proactively identify and lead category management initiatives that drive category growth while increasing BBUs sales/share and profits. This should include shopper and category insights to drive optimization of product assortment, product placement, incremental merchandising, and pricing and promotional strategies to improve overall category performance.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with retailers through objective insight development and presentation.
Leverage insights and recommend action plans for the retailer sales team by developing persuasive fact-based customer sales presentations.
Maintain frequent and fluid communication within and among cross functional teams up to Senior Director Level regarding projects, insights, and/or opportunities.
Work across BBU business units, brand teams, sales teams and retailer decision makers in a complex environment to assure seamless execution.
Establish consistent cadence for communicating with internal stakeholders.
Ability to go granular with the work and respective projects.
Build and maintain reporting as well as clearly communicate the findings.

Education and Work History:
Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business-related field preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.


5+ plus years of CPG experience preferred in related sales/analytical responsibility. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.


3+ years of experience with JDA space planning software.


Preferred experience in Customer Management or Category Management.


Experience using of PC-based applications (MS Windows and MS Office) with emphasis in ADVANCED Excel or related analytical tools proficiency is required.


5% travel
