Take guests through the 350-acre safari, with over 1,200 animals from 70 different species on an open aired military vehicle. See animals that are playing, giving birth, growing up and even animals that are extinct in the wild. You will never make the same trip twice! With your tour guide you will provide a memory that will stay with guest for a lifetime while making some memories of your own.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to safely operate a large military vehicle in an off-road situation, giving the animals the right away.
Adhere to all department, company and safety protocols.
Familiarize yourself with the animals that are in safari (information provided).
Interact with guest in a professional way and offer assistance as needed
Report any animal abnormalities or abnormal park conditions to the Safari Wardens.
Use daily logs to check assigned vehicles for any abnormalities and report to supervisors.
Maintain clean and sanitary vehicles and work areas.
Function as an integral team member of the department and park
Communicate on radio clearly and properly
Be able to gate guard
Support our Save an Icon conservation initiative by communicating that with guests.
Qualifications:
Must have a flexible schedule including holidays and at least one weekend day.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid NJ driver license.
Military license OR Valid NJ CDL Class B license with Passenger Endorsement and no air brake restrictions
Medical card (D.O.T) and recent abstract
Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language
Physically able to board the military vehicles
Stand or sit for long periods of time and in all weather conditions
Able to react well in stressful situations or emergencies
Safety conscious
Individuals must be able to work outdoors and be exposed to all weather conditions for long periods of time
Positive attitude and outgoing personality
Adhere to all Six Flags policies including but not limited to attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
Physical Demands:
May be required to stand, sit, kneel, bend and/or crouch for extended periods of time
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
May be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions including extreme cold or heat
Occasionally exposed to high and/or precarious places
May be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals (PPE will be supplied)
Noise level of the work environment is moderate
