Driver, Summer Meals 2023

Reports to: Senior Manager, Direct Programs
Overview
The Summer Meals Driver, reports to the Programs and Services department. This position is responsible for supporting the Summer Meals program through delivery of meals from the FBSJ facility to partner sites for the entirety of the program, as well as document delivery and collection as needed for the duration of its 2023 run. This position works closely with other part time and seasonal staff to accomplish all delivery, distribution and tracking associated with Food Bank Summer Meals service, compliance, and reporting. (8 positions offered.)
This is a full-time, in-person, temporary position beginning June 20 and continuing through September 1, 2023. The pay rate is $20/hr. Work days are Monday Friday, approximate hours 6:30 AM 2:30 PM or 10AM 6PM (depending on assigned route). Unpaid time-off requests evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Specific Responsibilities
The Summer Meals Driver will work closely with the senior manager of programs to ensure all deliveries occur safely and on schedule.

Assist with duties of order puller as needed to fulfill Summer Meals deliveries
Contribute with other staff members to maintaining the orderliness of all locations where product is stored and staged
Deliver meals to partner sites
Offload product in a safe manner
Engage with all levels of FB staff
Immediately report performance issues observed/experienced with any type of FB vehicle or truck
Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications and education requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent work experience 2 years minimum; experience driving a small truck and/or commercial vans preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
Experience working in food insecurity or related non-profit environment
Exemplary customer service skills
Strong time-management skills
Must have valid drivers license (NOT provisional) and at least 1 year of driving experience
Exclusions; to apply for this position you may NOT have:

More than three moving violations within the past two years
More than three accidents in the past two years
More than two moving violations in the past year
More than two accidents in the past year
A conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence (DWI or DUI) within the past five years
Alcohol or Drug Offenses
Felony committed with a motor vehicle
