Position Overview
The Demand Planner will be responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and suppliers. Planners should incorporate business intelligence and forecast knowledge to manage supply to meet the projected demand for VoiceComm and customers. This position reports to the Demand Planning Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities
Develop Customer Forecasts
Understand customer consumption, inventory, and planning process
Using data from customer and order history with VMI, develop customer specific consumption forecast and purchasing forecast.
Improve internal and external forecasting process
Drive customer specific Collaborative Planning Forecast & Replenishment (CPFR) process to reconcile significant variances and refine forecast process.
Establish Supplier Forecasts
Supply monthly forecasts to suppliers
Maintain strong working relationship and communications with suppliers to confirm proper inventory levels are available for purchase.
Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize write-offs
Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and perform corrective action plans to avoid reoccurrence.
Support Purchasing and VMI with business and supply chain strategy.
Continuously improve the sales forecasting processes and systems, ensuring that forecast accuracy is consistently improving
Review past forecasting performance and identify major forecast variances
Lead root-cause-analysis initiatives and formulate actions and plans
Identify and lead the implementation of process enhancement opportunities to improve forecast accuracy.
Cross Department Communication
Key liaison between Distribution Buyers and VMI Departments
Document all forecasting processes
Strong communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively with all members of the organization and external suppliers/customers
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Self-motivated, with ability to work independently in a fast-developing company
Must be able to adapt to changing circumstances with an appropriate sense of urgency
Strong communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively with all members of the organization and external suppliers / customers
Ability to identify, discuss and solve problems with internal and external teams
Proactive approach to continuous improvement
Education and Experience
BS or BA degree preferred
1-3 years Demand Planning experience required (Industry experience a plus)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
