Job Description

Hamilton Building Supply is seeking an Inside Sales Associate for Lumber and Building Materials. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience in the customer service industry. We hire for attitude first and building material experience second. We want "A" players who are willing to learn and leverage their skillsets to deliver a one-of-a-kind customer experience.

The primary responsibility of the Inside Sales Associate is to engage all customers and facilitate excellent customer care and attention in the sales process. Other responsibilities include:

  • Develop relationships with existing and new accounts
  • Follow up on quotes, orders and all aspects of projects for each account
  • Engage customers and facilitate an excellent customer experience
  • Work in team environment with other inside sales associates
  • Process quote and order requests for all customer accounts
  • Work with architectural sales associate team members to handle project specifications, quote and order requests
  • Maintain a well organized list of priorities, work space and file tree
  • Provide knowledgeable insight of all product features and benefits
  • Assess customer project needs and make product/service recommendations
  • Coordinate delivery and express pickups requested by customers and product specialists
  • Offer feedback for continuous improvement to management regularly
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails as quickly as possible
  • Handle application of payments, deposits and other transactions on customer accounts
  • Communicate low inventory and stock-out situations to purchasing
  • Resolve any product or service concerns with management assistance as necessary

Skills Required:

  • Proficient with POS systems and Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Basic business math skills
  • Ability to work with other team members to achieve team goals
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Strong communication ability via phone, email and inter-personally
  • Experience selling lumber and building materials is beneficial
