Finance and Human Resources Manager
The selected individual will report directly to the Principal.
My client, a multi-disciplinary engineering, inspection, and testing services firm, focused on providing special inspections and material testing, traffic engineering and transportation planning and bridge inspections and design services to public agencies and private entities throughout New York and New Jersey regions. The company is a class 1 Special Inspection Agency and with a certified Materials Testing Lab.
Position Summary
The Finance and Human Resources Manager is responsible for directing the organizations accounting and human resources functions. These functions include talent acquisition and management, establishing and maintaining the organizations accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The Finance and Human Resources Manager prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to the company's leadership team. The Finance and Human Resources Manager also supports and participates in the development of the organizations strategic plan.
General Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership, direction and management of the HR and accounting team.
· Direct and oversee all aspects of accounting functions (financial reporting, A/P, A/R, payroll, investments, etc.)
· Maintain financial policies and procedures for a strong system of internal controls, compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
· Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, information required for tax returns, and governmental agency reporting.
· Evaluate public and private bids/RFPs/RFIs and participate in the financial review and submission of proposed pricing and responses.
· Evaluate contractual agreements and gain a strong understanding of the terms and conditions, the financial implications of such, and the methods of billing required to collect receivables.
· Ensure the company remains compliant with local, state, and federal certifications and keep up to date with client pre-requisites.
· Provide timely financial analysis for management and operational decision making.
· Perform ongoing reviews and provide aid in the collection of receivables.
· Direct the coordination of employee benefits and the administration of.
· Oversee talent acquisition including onboarding, talent management and address day-to-day employee-related needs.
· Analyze and maintain external leases and vendor contracts.
· Develop and enforce company policies.
· Promote a positive, diverse, and strategically minded culture.
· Support the facilities management of the company's operating locations.
· Participate in expansion activities (investments, partnerships, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
· Identify opportunities, provide strategic recommendations, and participate in the overall planning process.
· Administer the companys USCIS immigration activities.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred.
· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
· Strong competency for customer service and team building.
· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
· Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
· Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Experience in cost accounting principles and financial systems.
· Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferred.
· Strong attention to detail; process oriented, with excellent judgement skills are essential.
· Ability to use and implement new systems as required.
· Ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, work with minimal supervision and meet challenges presented throughout the day.
