Worth & Company, Inc., a full-service mechanical construction company outside of Doylestown PA, is currently seeking an experienced HR Director to direct and manage all Human Resource functions and manage its staff. This is both a strategic and hands on role reporting directly to the VP of Shared Services and Chief Executive Officer and working with the leadership team. Develop corporate plans and policies for a broad spectrum of HR matters including recruiting and retention strategies, performance evaluation and reviews, incentive compensation plans, benefits, health and safety and employee engagement.
Responsible for HR functions including but not limited to compliance with employment laws and regulations, recruiting and staffing, employee orientation, development and training, performance management and improvement systems, organization development, employee relations, employee communication, compensation and benefits administration, employee safety, welfare, wellness and health and employee services and counseling.
Participate in the monthly Senior Executive Committee meeting to provide HR input on strategic, policy and operational issues.
Support management in the proper handling of employee relations matters and direct HR Generalist on employee relations matters.
Direct the recruiting and retention programs for the company for field, shop and office positions.
Create a positive environment where performance and productivity are key, while maintaining a best place to work atmosphere.
Oversee and manage the administration of all company benefits programs including medical and dental, 401k and pension and all other benefits. Act as liaison with benefits brokers and vendors.
Manage small HR team and serve as mentor to team members.
Assure compliance with all labor and employment laws and keep abreast of both federal and state laws.
Provide HR guidance and support to Operational Leaders in a fashion that is supportive of their success.
Participate in industry associations for the Construction and non-union trades.
Plan and execute company events including Employee Holiday Party, Annual Golf Outing, Company barbeque, summer picnic and other smaller events.
Manage HR projects from beginning stages to final completion including Vista implementation working with Payroll, IT and other internal departments and external vendors to see projects through to successful completion.
Communicate organizational policies and procedures.
Prepare reports related to compliance matters.
Compile operational data.
Negotiate sales or lease agreements for products or services.
Advise others on career or personal development.
10+ years of progressive positions in human resources, preferably in mid-size ($150 million -$200 million) construction companies.
5+ years of experience in HR leadership position.
Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices.
Excellent knowledge of employment & labor legislation and regulations.
Experience in merit based construction environment strongly preferred.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, business, or related field.
SPHR certification a plus.
