Job Description
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Reporting to: Director Human Resources
Purpose
The Human Resources Generalist assists with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), training and development, benefits, Payroll and General Human Resource Responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities

Assist with daily operations of the Human Resource Department
Manage the Employee Onboarding process
Audit employee files, I-9 Audits
Conduct employee orientation
Participates on various committees, Safety, Employee Recognition
Manage and update Glassdoor and Indeed community responses.
Maintain employee-related databases. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested
Manages Pines in-house employee training system; Track mandatory training hours, conduct training needs assessments with managers, conduct new employee orientation and tracking training hours
Assist managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants.
Provides necessary education and materials to managers and employees including workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports.
Maintains employee training records.
Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
Perform special payroll related functions such as time off accruals, retroactive payment calculations
Partner with internal team to coordinate the maintenance/troubleshooting of the HRIS and timekeeping system, oversee and partner to implement best practices for overall success
Administer, collect, ensure accuracy of and process all required compliance and employer documents
Proficiency with company benefit offerings in order to assist and guide associates with benefits-related issues, concerns and questions
Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs. Tracks and posts OSHA-required data and files reports.
Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA),

Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth.

Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, and Intranet use.
Performs other Human Resource responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Core Competencies

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
Effective oral and written communication. Excellent organizational skills.
Experienced in Multi-State Employment law, compensation, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training preferred
Familiar with California Employment law preferred

Education/Experience

Minimum of a bachelors degree or Equivalent of three to five plus years of progressive Human Resource Generalist experience
Experience in the administration of Human Resources programs. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred, not required

Environment

This is a non-safety-sensitive position. Working in an office/warehouse environment. Essential physical requirements- sitting, standing, and bending as needed
Lifting up to 10 lbs safely
