Summary
We are seeking a HR Benefits Specialist to join our Life, Disability and FMLA Administration team to assist with the centralized processing of FMLA, disability leave of absence, life insurance administration for over 34,000 US based employees. The role is based at our corporate headquarters in Willow Grove, PA and reports to the Assistant Manager, Health and Leave Administration.
Responsibilities:

Process FMLA and disability leave of absences
Administer state disability and paid family leave programs for multiple states
Responsible for required mailings to employees regarding FMLA, disability leave of absences etc.
Process life insurance claims, monitor Evidence of Insurability requests and respond to conversion inquiries for separated employees
Responsible for providing reports and payments to various disability insurance vendors
Maintain accurate and complete records of employee FMLA, disability leave of absences and life insurance claims. Record keeping includes utilizing scanning software, tracking logs and HRIS platform
Interaction with field and corporate office employees on a regular basis
Provide diligent responses to various requests via phone, fax, and email
Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

2-3 years related experience preferred
Proficient in reading and comprehending legal documents related to FMLA, disability and life insurance
Able to understand basic medical data related to FMLA and disability leave of absences
Experience with PeopleSoft a plus but willing to train
Skilled with using Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must have strong organization, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Able to work independently and meet multiple deadlines

Additional Requirements:
We are seeking an individual who has the capability to work independently at times yet be able to coordinate and prioritize work tasks with team members on a regular basis. This individual should have the ability to utilize all available resources both internal and external to continue to monitor regulation changes and take an active role in ensuring compliance requirements related to FMLA and leave administration are met.

Pre-Screen

Travel Requirements
Able to travel with minimum notice via air, or via driving a personal vehicle in response to requests for benefit presentations and assistance at hiring meetings, acquisitions, etc.

Safety
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
