Due to continuous company growth and the ever-changing landscape of leave requirements in various states across the country we are looking to hire an Assistant Manager in our HR Benefits Department to oversee the Leave of Absence and Paid Time Off programs. The individual in this role will manage the time off and Leave of Absence programs and Family and Medical Leave Act administration for over 33,000 employees across the US. The successful candidate should have strong communication skills and knowledge of Federal, State, and Local leave laws.

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day administration of Time Off and Leave of Absence programs of a multi-state employer which includes administration of Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FMLA, Paid Family and Medical Leave, Military, Paid Sick Leave, and Vacation programs while ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws.
Draft and/or recommend revisions to company and regional leave and paid time off policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations


Monitor Legislative updates for new state and local leave requirements to ensure compliance


Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases and perform data reconciliation and audits to ensure accurate leave processing.


Provide Leave of Absence guidance and direction to employees, managers, HR and regional office contacts throughout the organization.


Work with ADA Coordinator to transition employees approaching end of leave periods to facilitate interactive discussions with employees
Work closely with HRIS team to ensure the appropriate set up of programs for sick and paid time off administration as well as ensuring leave approvals are accurately maintained in employee job records
Maintain confidential employee files and ensure HIPAA compliance.
Oversee team responsible for leave program administration and life insurance claim processing
Serve a key role in the potential migration to a new HCM solution and the successful handling of leave administration and paid time off programs
Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

3- 5 years of experience in complex leaves management with a multi-state employer preferred.
Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, HIPAA, and leave requirements of various states.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, identify and implement process improvements and resolve complex situations
Strong communications skills and ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners
Proven team player with a positive attitude and willingness to go "above and beyond" to support key stakeholders.
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and be able to multi-task and drive multiple projects concurrently
Excellent organizational skills.
PeopleSoft experience a plus

Pre-Screen

Travel Requirements
Able to travel with minimum notice via air, or via driving a personal vehicle in response to requests for benefit presentations and assistance at hiring meetings, acquisitions, etc.

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
