Retail Sales Representative Job Summary: Sells retail supplies to independent garden centers & other retail businesses.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
Communicate with customers and potential customers to sell stocking product
Displays or demonstrates product using sample or catalog.
Provides date of delivery to customer
Prepares reports of business transactions, customer concerns
Provides prices and credit terms and is responsible for sales order entry
Acts as liaison between customer and collectors to bring past due accounts current.
Attends both virtual and in person sales meetings to obtain product and vendor knowledge.
Provides coverage to Customer Service Department during absences, peak periods, training sessions etc.
Must hold all internal Griffin information and communications confidential, unless otherwise instructed.

Education and/or Experience: Previous experience in, or exposure to, the horticultural industry is very conducive to an expedient learning curve. Two to four yearsÆ sales experience. Must possess the skills required to work in a fast-paced environment where a high level of pressure and stress may be involved.



Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not supervise other employees.

Must be able to sit in a chair at desk/workstation for several hours at a time utilizing computer, computer printed reports and telephone. On occasion may need to lift up to 10 pounds.
