Saint Francis Health System is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Remote Medical Assistant to support providers, patients, and clinical teams in a virtual care environment.

The Remote Medical Assistant will help coordinate patient care, support telehealth visits, maintain accurate electronic health records, assist with scheduling and patient communications, and perform other administrative and clinical-support functions appropriate for a remote setting.

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and committed to providing an excellent patient experience while protecting patient privacy and confidential health information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support providers and clinical staff with remote patient care workflows.
  • Assist with scheduling, rescheduling, and coordinating patient appointments.
  • Conduct patient outreach by telephone and approved electronic communication channels.
  • Prepare patients for virtual visits and assist with telehealth check-in and technical workflows.
  • Collect and document patient information accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Review and update demographic, medication, allergy, and other patient information as permitted by role and training.
  • Assist with referral coordination, follow-up activities, and care coordination.
  • Respond to routine patient questions and route clinical questions to the appropriate licensed healthcare professional.
  • Process messages, forms, orders, and other patient-care documentation according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Verify or assist with insurance and patient information when applicable.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team.
