Direct patients to examination rooms; assist in preparing patients for examination; and assist patients in undressing, dressing and getting on and off the examination table. Notify provider of patient's arrival and readiness for their examination. Assist providers with patient examinations.Review charts prior to patient's scheduled appointment to ensure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed and that reports have been returned and are accessible to the provider. Record medical history, current medications, treatments and problem list accurately. Obtain and record patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, blood pressure and reason for visit.Assist with patient equipment downloads, utilizing a variety of medical device software programs and printing appropriate reports for LIP review in an accurate and timely manner.Assist with medication reconciliation process, reviewing and accurately documenting patient medications.Accurately and efficiently perform all clerical duties as needed, including, but not limited to, patient registration, billing, answering phones, scheduling appointments and initiating, maintaining and filing medical records.Assist with equipment cleaning, disinfection and pasteurization, documenting appropriately according to standardized protocols.Disseminate and communicate accurate patient information appropriate to the patient's disorder.Accurately input data in the registration, electronic medical record, database and scheduling systems according to established procedures.Assist patients in completing essential paperwork and questionnaires.Ensure exam rooms are cleaned after each patient and appropriately stocked with necessary supplies, equipment and forms. Practice proper infection control techniques.Perform other selected clinical and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary healthcare and patient care management within any CH office location under the direction of a provider and manager in accordance with the objectives and policies of Capital Health (CH) and respective state laws governing such actions and activities.Cross-train to perform Patient Reception Representative job duties as needed.May be assigned to other Capital Health practices as needed.Additional Responsibilities for Certified Medical Assistants:Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight and temperature. Report patient history summary.Clean exam rooms. Obtain lab specimens. Assist the physicians and other staff as needed. Select appropriate equipment prior to collection to streamline process.
