At the Sylvan Learning of Hamilton (Mercer County), we have an in-person opening for:
- Reading/Writing teachers (through high school level) to coach students in need of academic support after school and/or on weekends!
- Math: We are also seeking upper level math teachers for Algebra 1, 2, Geometry and Precalculus! (These math positions have been filled as of 1/23/23)

Why Teach at Sylvan?

A glimpse of your typical day at Sylvan:
Greets students and initiates instruction to personally engage with each
Evaluates and records progress of each student
Collaborates with directors so that we can ensure the highest level of success for each student
Doing what you love: teaching, without all the take-home work or lesson prep
Tutoring your students; 1:1 or 3:1 ratio
Giving students' the academic tools that will help them succeed in school and throughout their lives
Collaborating with full-time staff to develop a plan to meet the needs of each student
All curriculum provided
The center is open during the school year & extended summer hours (although we dont just hire for summer). We are open for instruction:
Monday-Thursday: 4-8pm
Saturday: 9am-1pm
Sunday: 10am-2pm
Who Can Apply:
Undergraduate degree
Teaching experience/certification required (Teaching certification preferred but not required for upper level math teachers)
Must be punctual and professional
Initial and ongoing training/support is provided to all of our teachers.
What positions we are currently hiring:
Middle School or High School Level English/ Language Arts
High School Level Math (Algebra 1, 2, Geometry & Precalculus) (Currently filled as of 1/23/23)
Retired teachers looking to stay involved in the education field are welcome to apply!

Note: This position is in-person at our center in Hamilton, NJ on Quakerbridge Road. (not a remote position). Also, please consider your commuting time if you live more than 10-15 miles away from the center before applying.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
