We are currently looking for an Afternoon Assistant Teacher with flexible hours (1-6pm), (3-6pm) or (4-6pm) for one or more of our classrooms (18 months to 5 years of age)
The Kiddie Academy of Hillsborough, is a child care / preschool that opened in May, 2018 in Hillsborough, NJ. Our passion and desire is to deliver the highest quality childcare possible. From family style dining to character education, our developmentally appropriate curriculum gives the child a full day of learning no matter what he or she is doing. Some of the best learning happens without the child knowing it.
Daily Responsibilities:
Understanding the Life Essentials curriculum thoroughly and developing and implementing supplemental lesson plans (as required) based on the monthly and seasonal themes and the interests of the children in the classroom
Meeting the individual needs of the children including feeding and diapering
Participating in staff and training meetings
Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning and working through exciting projects
Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the childs age and developmental level
Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem, confidence and social skills
Communicating appropriately and professionally with children, parents and fellow staff using Academy tools and resources
Meeting Kiddie Academy's Quality Assurance and NJ state licensing requirements
Assistant Teachers work with the Lead Teachers to ensure compliance with Kiddie Academy's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!
Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
Associates / CDA degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Growth and Development and 2 years of experience - preferred
Strong written and communication skills, ability to communicate with parents and build life-long relationships
Experience working in a educational day care facility - at least 1 year preferred
