The Swedenborg Library is seeking a technically-savvy, detail-oriented librarian to maintain our collections, the online catalog, and associated library systems for full-time work. They will also assist with reference and circulation operations as needed. Someone who is ready and willing to collaborate and innovate in support of our campus community is essential.
Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Performs copy and original cataloging
Performs catalog database and library systems maintenance
Manages subscription and library-owned electronic resources (ebooks, databases, digital media), including updates and troubleshooting
Collects and analyzes system and collection data for reports and assessment
Participates in collection development decisions and projects as needed
Manages New Church serials

Updates catalog records
Coordinates serials processing (printing, accession, organizing)
Collects and manages storage and access to electronic-format newsletters
Corresponds with journal and newsletter editors
Maintains holdings spreadsheets of New Church and secular serials

Provides reference services and teaches information literacy classes as needed
Collaborates with other staff members to train staff and student workers and assists with supervising student work tasks
Supports the circulation desk staff as needed
Participates in professional development activities and committee work
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director

Criteria and Qualifications

Master's degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited institution
2-5 years library experience
Familiar with computer technology and office software, including remote technologies
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented, with organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed

Technical Skills Required

Working knowledge of SirsiDynix library management system, including the public interface (Enterprise) or similar
Ability to use Microsoft Office product suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Teams
Proficiency in OCLCs Connexion Client, or similar cataloging software
Ability to operate a digital scanner, microfilm reader/printer, and use advanced options of photocopier/printer
Ability to read, interpret, edit, and create MARC catalog records
Knowledge of and proficiency in applying current cataloging rules and standards
