JOB DESCRIPTIONS

DIRECTOR

Reports to: Owner

Requisites:

  1. Background check with satisfactory results

  1. CPR & First Aid Certified

  1. Current USA Gymnastics Certified Instructor - Recreational Gymnastics

(U100: Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction)

  1. Current USA Gymnastics Developmental Teacher Certification

  1. Experience working with young children

Gym Management- Capable of performing all duties of other Tumbles employees - assistant director, teachers, assistants.

Daily Operations

  1. Prepare for opening; cue music, safety-check equipment.

  1. Open the gym at least 30 minutes before the first scheduled class.

  1. Ensure that adequate staff is ready, willing, and able to work.

  1. Answer phone calls, return messages.

  1. Greet members, new customers-being the ‘face’ of the operation.

Class Operations

  1. Ensure that classes run properly.

  1. Ensure that enthusiasm of staff and participants is up.

  1. Ensure that the children are enjoying the class.

  1. Ensure that staff members have smiles on their faces.

Weekly

  1. Inventory of operating supplies.

  1. Purchasing of operating, office and other supplies.

  1. Copying and stocking of promotional materials (flyers, brochures)

  1. Rearrange gym equipment

Birthday Parties

  1. Encourage the booking of birthday parties well in advance to assure that the date is reserved.

  1. Ensure that deposits are received at least one month before the birthday party.

  1. In conjunction with the parent, ensure that all party supplies are on hand.

  1. Explain all details of our birthday party practices to the parents so that there are no surprises.

  1. Make ABSOLUTELY certain that every party is appropriately staffed.

Member Management

  1. ESTABLISH RAPPORT WITH PARENTS/CUSTOMERS

  1. Ensure that parents are happy with the program.

  1. Listen and respond to parents’ needs- work out problems.

  1. Handle parent questions and complaints before or after class in a non-confrontational manner.

  1. Create weekly announcements, keep parents and employees informed.

Registration

  1. Supervises staff in handling registration properly.

  1. Ensures that all students are registered.

  1. Ensures that Waiting List parents are informed.

  1. Ensures that all tuition is paid in full by the third week of class.

Post-Registration

  1. Ensure that attendance is kept for all classes.

  1. Ensure that make-up classes are handled properly.

  1. Contact guests to fill positions available when a member no-shows.

  1. Follow-up with guests promote future registration.

  1. Contact parents whose children have not attended class three times in a row to determine that all is well.

Administration

  1. Maintenance and management of computer program.

  1. Accountable for all cash and checks received at the gym.

  1. Prints a daily report for all cash and checks received.

  1. Delivers daily report and all monies to the owner in accordance with the owner's instructions.

  1. Sort mail, organize.

  1. Community involvement, donations to relevant organizations, etc

  1. Bookkeeping and basic accounting.

  1. Keep web announcements and schedule current.

Sales and Business Promotion

  1. Create and implement a marketing plan for the gym.

  1. Network with local businesses, community leaders and organizations.

  1. Send out registration newsletter

  1. Create and manage promotions.

  1. Create informative flyers, keep schedule updated for flyers and on the web.

Employee Management

  1. Interview, hire, train, develop, retain, supervise, discipline, and terminate staff.
  2. Create and implement employee policies and procedures.
  3. Scheduling staff for classes and parties, handling vacation requests.
  4. Hold regular staff meetings to keep the staff informed, to allow them to solve problems, and to contribute ideas.
  5. Delegate duties such as cleaning, copying, managing computer, etcetera
  6. Ensure that all timesheets are accounted properly.
  7. Report the correct number of hours for each employee to the payroll service or owner as required.


Cleanliness

  1. Ensure that the gym is spotless every day. (We would like to be compared to Disneyland in this respect.)
