AVAILABLE SHIFTS:
Substitute Teacher - Flexible Schedule - All ages
Full Time Teacher - 9 am - 5:30 pm- Toddlers
Full Time Teacher - 8:30 am - 5 pm - Infants
PURPOSE OF JOB: Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom. To supervise and coach teachers and classroom assistants to ensure this purpose.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-Minimum of a 2-year degree, with preferences given to degrees in ECE; related fields will receive consideration
Experience: 1 year of experience in a classroom setting preferred
Training time required once hired:
-Attendance at hospital orientation and center orientation
-3-month introductory period
-Completion of all state-mandated training programs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development through planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets recommended standards to ensure health, safety, and nutrition of children as reflected in the weekly lesson plans.
-Teachers will create a learning environment based on childrens needs, interests, and abilities and one that is reflective of the childrens families and cultures.
-Partner with families to create an open system of effective communication and to assist in making smooth transitions from home to the classroom and to demonstrate professional practices in all aspects of work.
-Use various techniques to observe children and record their work and share progress reports with families.
-Teachers will supervise, train, evaluate, model and mentor staff and volunteers as needed.
-Complete professional development plan annually with supervisor and maintain credentialing required by Keystone Stars, NAEYC, and DPW. Support all Childrens Village activities, fundraising activities and family events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $26.00 per hour
