Posting Summary



Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School of Social Work. The Program Coordinator I supports activities for Grow NJ Kids Training Services, an initiative that develops, delivers, and evaluates training for professionals employed in the States early care and education network by serving center-, school- and home-based programs participating in Grow NJ Kids, a national effort to raise the quality of childcare and early learning through a Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). Grow NJ Kids Training Services manages training and education services to strengthen the early childhood and education workforce, enhance the quality of early education programs, and fulfil the requirements of the QRIS and reinforce quality care and learning.

Among the key duties of this position are:


Coordinating multiple facets of training delivery, assuming primary responsibility for scheduling sessions and topics, assigning and supporting a team of instructors to deliver courses, and organizing the venues and/or online platforms that host training sessions.
Provides support to the project through preparation of materials, instructors and host platforms, responding to requests for training sessions and inquiries from learners, and supporting trainers assigned to deliver coursework.
Represents the program and Institute at meetings and trainings.
Responsible for coordinating daily project activities, assuring compliance with grant mandates, providing technical, administrative, and logistical support for early childhood programs related to training education offered through GNJKTS.
Reviewing training content, supporting trainer professional development, and interfacing with all stakeholders of the project to ensure bi-directional communication and collaboration.
Support program management in policy review, procedure updates, and overall program administration.

Minimum Education and Experience



Bachelors degree or and equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities






Possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, strong project coordination skills, advanced computer literacy, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team.
Ability to work independently and to project a professional image and represent the Institute for Families effectively.
Clear understanding of administration, record-keeping, and Microsoft Office programs with the ability to be detail oriented while managing multiple diverse tasks and assignments.
Must be willing to travel throughout New Jersey as needed using a personal vehicle.






Preferred Qualifications


Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish.
Possesses an understanding of the work of early childcare providers in New Jersey.
Five years related experience in early childhood programming

MS Office software: word processing, database, project management, and spreadsheet applications
Expected to use and be familiar with copier machines, fax, and other office equipment
Software and online technology and tools that host web-based meetings and events, including Zoom, WebEx and Teams.





Physical Demands and Work Environment
