THE VILLAGE CHARTER SCHOOL is hiring a dynamic and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our school. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about working with children and developing their social, emotional, and cognitive abilities. We are looking for a teacher who has a professional approach to education and can effectively communicate with parents, students, and teachers.
Duties:Plan and implement activities to help students develop physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive skills
Create fun educational experiences for students
Develop lesson plans based on curriculum
Maintain school records and create lesson plans
Ensure the safety of all students
Maintain a safe learning environment
Participate in staff meetings, staff development, and curriculum reviews
Attend staff meetings, staff meetings, parent education sessions, and professional development trainings as needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Experience:Education: Special Education (BachelorÆs) or related field (Covid-19 compliant) or relevant experience (prospective candidates can take courses online in this field)
Licenses & Certifications: CPR First Aid Certification or related field (prospective candidates can take courses online in this field)
Other: Must be COVID-19 vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated as soon as possible. Must have valid Trenton, NJ DriverÆs License and reliable Transportation and Logistics. Must be willing to work Monday - Friday between 7:00am - 4:00pm. This position will require frequent travel within Trenton, NJ state.
