The Princeton University Store is seeking candidates for several part time positions. Hours and location with vary. The U-Store currently operates two locations, on campus and in downtown Princeton. It is a not-for-profit cooperative society whose members share in the profits. As a co-op, it operates differently from an ordinary corporation. It is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of students, faculty, administrators, and alumni, and instead of paying dividends to Wall Street shareholders, it gives discounts to its members. Members receive a 10% discount on nearly everything in the store. Last year U-Store members received nearly $500,000 in discounts on all merchandise. Co-op membership now includes over 75,000 active members.
General Responsibilities
*Provide professional and exceptional Customer Service through greeting guests, assessing their needs, and assisting them in all aspects of their purchase
*Perform all Cashiering duties, including opening and closing counts
*Provide information on co-op membership benefits, and encourage customer purchase of memberships
*Stock, merchandise, and maintain sales floor daily
*Possess knowledge and understanding of weekly/monthly promotions*Possess detailed product knowledge
*Assist with maintaining Store Security standards
*Possess full knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures and the Employee Handbook
*Reports directly to Manager On Duty
Preferred skills and experience
>Previous retail experience
>Positive attitude; reliable; professional appearance and behavior; ability to learn and perform new tasks and take direction
>Willingness and proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
