General Summary of Position:
The Payroll Clerk performs all activities necessary to process and audit biweekly multi-state payroll for ~500 employees by collecting and entering payroll data and timesheets, maintaining earnings and deductions, and updating payroll records. Responsible for system maintenance and payroll related end-user training. Responsible for Workers Comp and Disability administration. Provides outstanding customer service and maintains highly confidential information.
Essential Duties

Using UKG Pro, processes multi-state payroll accurately and timely for multiple divisions, including commissions and bonuses.
Maintains employee payroll records and timecards in UKG Pro.
Communicates payroll deadlines to all employees.
Tracks and follows up on new hire benefit enrollments.
Processes all voluntary and involuntary deductions such as benefits, 401(k) loans, garnishments, and levies.
Resolves payroll discrepancies and answers employee questions related to payroll and benefits.
Processes and audits year-end forms including W-2s and 1095-Cs.
Compares payroll tax returns prepared by A&Ss payroll service vendor.
Completes state and SUI tax set-up and employment and industry verifications.
Prepares ad hoc reports for internal customers. Enters various spreadsheet data.
Act as point person for external audits to include 401(k) audit (Form 5500), external auditors, accounting, and workers compensation insurance.
Conduct periodic training in person or via Zoom/MS Teams to ensure all supervisors and managers understand their payroll and HRIS responsibilities, including approving timecards and time off requests.
Assist in the Sales commission reconciliation process.
Manages the short- and long-term disability process from claim initiation, tracking, and communications with managers and employees.
Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to preparing correspondence, written documents, spreadsheets, and presentations to support manager(s), departments, and divisions.
Proactively develop and distribute consistent, user friendly reporting tools for managers and supervisors to support the management of payroll activities including, overtime, PTO, rosters, system usage, etc.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. FPC or CPP preferred.
3+ years of direct payroll processing. UKG Pro (formerly Ultipro) strongly preferred
Advanced level computer proficiency in Microsoft products; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
EXTREME attention to detail required.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic accounting and payroll practices and procedures.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with impeccable attention to detail.
Must be able to interact professionally and positively at all levels.
Must possess sense of urgency.
Customer service oriented along with a highly professional phone manner.
Able to maintain confidential information.
Able to work independently and in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
