Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director for Teaching Initiatives and Programs for Faculty, the Assistant Director of Educational and Program Assessment (ADEPA) will develop evaluation processes for McGraw Center programs to measure the reach and impact of the Center's work. With the goal of improving teaching and learning, the ADEPA will also design and implement strategies for assessing teaching and learning initiatives at the course, department, and institutional level. The position will partner with the Senior Associate Director on faculty development efforts, and will also collaborate with the Office of Institutional Research, the Office of the Provost, and the Office of the Dean of the College on assessment activities.

Responsibilities:

Conduct direct assessment:


With McGraw Center senior staff, design and execute assessment plans that measure reach and impact of new and existing programs.
Interpret data and regularly present analyses to Center staff and other stakeholders.
Develop processes for making data-informed decisions about the CenterÆs work.



Consult with faculty:


Conduct outreach to faculty.
Design and implement assessment plans at the project, course, and departmental level.
Consult with faculty on assessment plans included in requests for funding.
Consult with faculty on customizing questions for SETs.



Collaborate with the Senior Associate Director on faculty development:


Help plan, facilitate, and assess programs such as New Faculty Institute.
Regularly lead faculty workshops focused on assessment best practices.
Conduct literature reviews on relevant topics in teaching and learning.
Review applications for Center-sponsored grants.
Qualifications:


Advanced degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Sophisticated knowledge of educational assessment processes.
Demonstrated ability to design and direct assessment projects at different scales.
Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data, as well as present them in multiple forms (including graphical).
Demonstrated ability to write clearly and cogently for different audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work closely and collaboratively with faculty and administrators across a university setting.
Highest level of tact and professionalism.
