Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in skilled trades, vocational training, or secondary/trade school graduates who are passionate about hands-on work. You will be responsible for performing a variety of property maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our properties. Must be flexible and willing to respond to after hour emergency maintenance calls on a rotating basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Carpentry: Perform basic woodwork repairs and installations, including doors, frames, and minor construction tasks.
- Plumbing: Handle minor plumbing repairs and maintenance, such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring proper water flow.
- Electrical: Conduct basic electrical repairs, including replacing outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
- Painting: Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation and touch-ups.
- General Property Maintenance: Use hand and power tools for tasks such as appliance installation, moving furniture, assembling equipment, and climbing ladders to access hard-to-reach areas.
- Vehicle Operation: Drive maintenance vehicles to various job sites as needed.
- HVAC: Conduct basic HVAC repairs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience or education in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or related fields (vocational or trade school graduates encouraged to apply).
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work weekends as needed and be on-call for emergencies.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no more than three suspensions or points in the past three years).
- Physical ability to perform job tasks, including lifting between 50 - 100 pounds, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking.
